EDUCATION EXHIBIT

Visit Vineyard Wind’s Offshore Wind Energy Education Exhibit to explore offshore wind energy, the nation's first commercial-scale offshore wind project, and receive exclusive updates on the nation's first commercial-scale wind farm!

Families and friends are invited to join us to experience the excitement of designing, building, and testing your very own wind turbine, racing to be the first to generate electricity, as well as experiencing the day in the life of a wind technician utilizing virtual reality headsets.

Offshore Wind Energy Exploration

Overview:

Unleash the power of renewable energy and spark student’s interest at Vineyard Wind’s Offshore Wind Energy Exhibit! Students will explore the nation's first commercial-scale offshore wind project powering over 400,000 homes and businesses in Massachusetts. Engage in hands-on activities to map, design, and test their own wind energy projects, as well as gain insights into offshore wind job opportunities and career pathways through the lens of a wind technician. 

Introduction to Offshore wind

10-30 Students | 90 minutes | Elementary/Middle/High School (3-12) | Offered Tuesdays and Thursdays

Students will explore the nation's first commercial-scale offshore wind project, Engage in hands-on activities to map, design, and test their own wind energy projects, as well as gain insights into offshore wind job opportunities and career pathways through the lens of a wind technician. Available in your Classroom or at Our Education Exhibit.

Career Pathways

10-30 Students | 90 minutes | Middle/High School (6-12) | Offered Tuesdays and Thursdays

Students will get exclusive updates on the nation's first commercial-scale offshore wind project, identify stakeholders, and design their own wind energy projects.students will discover job opportunities and career pathways, discussing salaries, and identifying the experience, education, and training needed for each career as they reflect on their own interests determining where they could fit into offshore wind.  Available in your Classroom or at Our Education Exhibit.

Turbine Site Visit Add-on

10-30 Students | 45 minutes | Elementary/Middle/High School Students (Grades 3-12) | Offered Tuesdays and Thursdays

This program allows groups to include a guided tour to the New Bedford Hurricane Barrier, where participants will observe the storage, assembly, and management of wind turbine pieces. Explore the hurricane barrier that protects the terminal, with a discussion on their engineering and environmental significance. Providing a deeper understanding of the infrastructure supporting offshore wind energy and the critical role of marine commerce in the industry. Available with an additional program.
