USA’s First Utility Scale Offshore Wind Project Releases Comment on New York State Decision to Quadruple Offshore Wind Procurement

(New Bedford, MA; January 18, 2018) – Vineyard Wind Chief Executive Officer Lars Petersen released the following statement following the announcement by the New York Governor Andrew Cuomo that the state will quadruple planned offshore wind development to 9,000 megawatts by 2035.

This strong signal from the governor marks an important increase of the combined commitments of the Eastern United States’ to boldly move forward with development of a new industry and a robust supply chain that will sustain the offshore wind sector for decades to come.”
