Onshore/Offshore ERT (electro resistivity tomography) Surveys at Covells Beach

Vineyard Wind 1 and its contractors will begin surveying Covells Beach. The purpose of the survey is to determine the presence and location of areas of shallow rock or large boulders to further inform the design of the horizontal directional drilling (HDD).  The onshore ERT Survey effort involves the temporary placement by hand of several electrical probes along multiple transects extending from the Covell’s Beach Parking Lot onto the beach (approximately 275 feet in length). The offshore ERT Surveys will be carried out via vessel use.
